Reggae Youths confirm Sandals Major League semis

MONTEGO BAY, St James -- Defending champions Reggae Youths confirmed their place in the semi-finals of the St James Football Association/Sandals Resorts International Major League after beating Montego Bay Boys Club 4-1 in their return round game played at the UDC field in Montego Bay on Friday.
Led by a brace from Kemar Reid, Reggae Youths won their sixth straight game and raced to an unbeatable 18 points in Zone B and joined Flankers FC who had qualified from Zone A on Thursday.
In another game on Friday, former champions Wadada United FC earned their first point of the season after coming from behind to earn a 1-1 draw against Green Pond SC at the Mt Salem Community Centre.
At the UDC field, Reggae Youths continued their rampage through the league as they brushed aside Boys Club who they had beaten 9-1 in the first round.
Reid got them off to a fast start as he scored in the sixth minute before Ian Francis scored his first of the season in the 15 th minute to take the score t0 2-0.
Owen Cox pulled one back for Boys Club in the 37th minute but Nicholas Campbell restored Reggae Youths two goals margin, scoring in the 45th minute before Reid completed his double with a goal in the 62nd minute to move into a three way tie for the lead with five goals.
Tyler Palmer gave Green Pond SC the lead in the fourth minute at the Mt Salem Community Centre before Howard Mair scored for Wadada United in the 47th minute as they shared the points.
