Rasheed Broadbell, Tina Clayton win at Tyson Invitational - Jamaica Observer

KINGSTON, Jamaica -- Sprint hurdler Rasheed Broadbell and Tina Clayton were winners on Friday's opening night of the Tyson Invitational at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
Broadbell ran 7.56 seconds to win the men's 60m hurdles in his indoor debut after leading the preliminaries with 7.61 seconds as Tyler Mason finished second with a personal best 7.65 seconds, running the same time in both rounds.
Tina Clayton won the women's 60m Open, running 7.25 seconds, beating twin sister Tia who ran 7.28 seconds. Tina had run 7.30 seconds in the prelims, the fastest, while Tia had run 7.35 seconds and Jonielle Smith 7.38 seconds for ninth best, just missing out on the finals.
Lanae-Tava Thomas was second in the women's 400m Open in 51.88 seconds, ahead of Stacey Ann Williams- 52.33 seconds and Andrenette Knight was fourth in 52.68 seconds.
Stephenie Ann McPherson also ran a season best 54.02 seconds.
World Championships relay medallist Rohan Watson was second in the men's 60m Open in 6.76 with Michael Campbell placing fourth in 6.80 seconds. Both men had run 6.73 seconds in the first round with Campbell leading. Amoi Brown was fourth in the women's 60m hurdles, equalling her lifetime best 8.04 seconds.
