Racing United extend lead in JFF Championships

ST CATHERINE, Jamaica -- Racing United extended their lead in the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) Championships on Saturday after beating second-placed Tru-Juice FC 3-1, who went down to back-to-back losses after starting with five wins.
Racing United who rebounded after being held to a draw the previous week, are on 19 points from seven games, four more than Tru-Juice FC, while Baptist Alliance moved into third place on 12 points, one more than Brown's Town who was surprised at home by Meadforest FC.
Rhajneil Brown, Nickyle Ellis and Mikyle Williams scored for Racing United, while Conaie Rose got Tru-Juice's only goal of the game.
Baptist Alliance scored their first win over Falmouth United, beating the Trelawny team 3-1 to avenge last season's loss by the same margin with Tamar Francis, Darnel Lee and Ryan Wiltshire giving them a 3-0 lead before Antonio Roberts pulled a goal back for the visitors.
Meadforest FC scored their first win of the season, edging Brown's Town 1-0 with Tevoy Coldspring scoring the winner in time added at the end of the first half.
Romario Whyte scored a double to lead promoted Petersfield FC to a big 4-0 win over Hopewell United while Zidne Whyte and Dean Vassell got one goal each for the Westmoreland team.
Reno FC scored a 3-1 win over Gray Inn FC, while the games between Portlanders FC and Faulkland FC and St Bess FC and Chapleton Maroons both ended in 1-1 scorelines.
