Elections 2024: Voters' roll open for inspection - IEC

CAPE TOWN - As South Africa prepares to head to the polls in May the Independent Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) says the voters' roll will be open for inspection from Monday until early next month.

Eligible South African voters had until midnight last Friday to register to vote or update their registration information before the voters' roll closed.

About 27 million South Africans have registered to vote on 29 May.

The IEC's Michael Hendrickse says those with objections to the voters' roll still have an opportunity to raise them.

Hendrickse says their timetable also sets out the period in which the electorate can apply for special votes.
