SANDAKAN: The body of a man believed to be an 18-year-old foreigner was found by members of the public under a house at a squatter settlement in front of the Datuk Pengiran Galpam Mosque at Mile 7, here, Monday.

Sandakan District Police Chief, ACP Abdul Fuad Abdul Malek, said they received a tip-off at 10.31am and went to the location.

He said the deceased is believed to have been electrocuted by an illegal electric cable connection.

Fuad said the victim's body was sent to the Forensic Unit of Duchess of Kent Hospital (HDOK) Sandakan for autopsy.

Meanwhile, the head of the Sandakan Fire and Rescue Station, Severinus Sainkui, said they received the call at 11.06am and handed the body over to the police for further action.
