SA bosses accused of setting dog on Namibian remain in custody

Two South African citizens, Pieter Groenewald (63) and his son Stephan Greeff (27), have been denied bail again after appearing in the Groblersdal Magistrate's Court on Monday.

Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi, spokesperson for the South African National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in Limpopo province, confirmed the news.

The duo face charges of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm on their Namibian employee, Veneruru Kavari (30).

The alleged attack occurred in January this year at Groenewaldt's property in Groblersdal, a farming town in Limpopo.

Kavari, employed by the Groenewalds as a security guard, was reportedly subjected to a vicious dog attack.

Malabi-Dzhangi confirmed that both Groenewald and Greeff will be held in custody until their next court appearance scheduled for 4 April.

She said their case was postponed to allow authorities additional time to conduct further investigations into the incident.
