The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) on Wednesday announced a traffic disruption on James Gichuru Road.
Kura said that the disruption would happen during the night hours from Thursday to Sunday.
This is meant to allow the contractor to improve the road, according to the authority.
Motorists plying the route have been advised to use alternative routes, especially during evening hours to avoid getting caught up in the city's traffic.
"We urge Motorists using that route to exercise caution as we endeavour to Transform Urban Mobility," Kura wrote on X.
James Gichuru Road is located along the Lavington area and connects with Waiyaki Way at the ABC Round About of Nairobi.
The road is mostly used by individuals looking to access the Westlands Area of the city.
"We wish to notify the General Public that there will be Traffic disruption along James Gichuru Road from 14th- 17th March 2024 (Night Hours) to allow the Contractor to improve the road," was the message posted on Kura's X platform.
Kura said that they are working to improve the infrastructure networks in all 47 counties and the James Gichuru Road is just one of the projects.
As part of the agenda to improve the infrastructure, Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen yesterday inspected the ongoing upgrading of roads in Bomet County.
This he said is 'in line with the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda, under which the Government pledged to improve the urban road network as an enabler for agricultural development, trade, health and related services'.
