Live blog: Israel kills at least 18 Palestinian civilians in Gaza strikes

2300 GMT -- Israel has killed at least 13 civilians in air strikes on the house in the Nuseirat camp and the Tuffah neighbourhood in besieged Gaza, WAFA news agency said.

Local sources said that Israeli warplanes shelled several houses in the Nuseirat camp in central Gaza, killing seven civilians and wounding several others.

Five civilians were also killed, and dozens of civilians, mostly children, were wounded in a strike on the house in the Tuffah neighbourhood northeast of Gaza City.

Israel killed another civilian and wounded others after shelling of a house belonging to the Abu Dawabeh family in the village of Al Masdar in central Gaza.

At least five Palestinians were killed when a seven-storey building was bombed by the Israeli army in Gaza, the Palestinian Civil Defense Unit said in a statement.

"The Israeli army targeted and destroyed a seven-storey building on Lebabidi Street in Gaza city," it said.

Others are reportedly trapped under the rubble.

Many residents were wounded in the attack, said the statement, adding that civil defence teams are continuing efforts to rescue victims trapped under the rubble.
