KINGSTON, Jamaica - Edwin Allen High's Natasha Fox and Tonyan Beckford advanced to Friday's final of the Girls' 400m hurdles Open with the quickest times at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys' and Girls' Athletics Championships on Tuesday.

Fox clocked a season's best 58.71 to win heat two ahead of Rhodes Hall's Rhianna Lewis (59.89) and Diandra Kelly of Excelsior High (1:00:88).

Beckford, the favourite to win, clocked 58.80 to win heat one. Quana Walker of St Jago High (1:00.23) and Nastassia Fletcher of Hydel High (1:00:23) also advanced from this heat.

Heat three was won by Hydel's Aaliyah Mullings (59.06), while Chennai Jarrett of St Elizabeth Technical secured the second automatic spot in 1:01.04.

The girls' 400m hurdles Open is scheduled for Friday at 8:45 pm.
