KINGSTON, Jamaica - Excelsior High's Demarco Bennett looked the most impressive during the preliminaries of the Class 2 boys' 400m hurdles at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys' and Girls' Athletics Championships on Tuesday.
Bennett clocked a time of 52.64 to win heat two of the event. Kingston College's Jahvanie Tyrell (54.10) finished second and Holmwood Technical's Shawn Walker (54.29) finished third.
Calabar's Robert Miller clocked 53.58 seconds to claim the stop spot in heat one. He was followed by Kingston College's Taj-Oneil Gordon (53.85).
In heat three, St George's College's Fransico Williams clocked 54.26 to win. Second place went to Rojay Black of Jamaica College (54.50) and Edwin Allen's Orando Pine claimed the third spot with 54.66.
The final of the Class 2 boys' 400m hurdles is scheduled for Friday at 8:55 pm.
