Five months after senior Theewaterskloof Local Municipality officials went to the Rugby World Cup final in France on what the council dubbed an official state visit, the DA is looking for "receipts".

It is putting pressure on the Western Cape municipality, run by a coalition between the ANC, GOOD party and Patriotic Alliance, to divulge the costs incurred.

The party hopes that using the Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA) will compel the municipality to disclose pertinent details.
