KINGSTON, Jamaica - Excelsior High narrowly missed the record as they stormed to victory in the Class 2 boys' 4x100m at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys' and Girls' Athletics Championships on Saturday.

Excelsior laid down the gauntlet to win the event in 40.35.

The record of 40.29 was set by Calabar High in 2016.

Kingston College finished second in 40.93 and Calabar won bronze in 41.75.

With an outstanding performance out of lane eight, Jamaica College (JC) emerged the victors in the Class 1 boys' event. JC won in a time of 40.01.

Calabar High finished second in 40.10 while St Jago won bronze (40.59).

In Class 3, it was Calabar that came out on top in 43.45. Silver went to Wolmer's Boys (43.85) while St Elizabeth Technical finished third in 45.08.
