The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission (FCCC) is calling for submission on the proposed acquisition of 100 per cent shares in the Joint User Hydrant Installation (JUHI) ownership.

FCCC chief executive officer Joel Abraham said in accordance with the FCCC Act 2010, they had received a notification from Pacific Energy Southwest Pacific Pte Limited (Pacific Energy) that sought to acquire the remainder 50 per cent shares of Mobil Oil (Fiji) in the JUHI, the entity responsible for aviation fuel services at Nadi Airport".

"In fostering an inclusive and transparent environment, FCCC actively seeks submissions from interested stakeholders, individuals, and the public regarding their perspectives on the potential impacts of this transaction on competition within the relevant markets in Fiji and the respective industries," Mr Abraham said.

"Submissions are also sought concerning the anticipated effects of the transaction on the petroleum sector, aviation sector, associated businesses, and the overall economy."

Views and submissions are to be forwarded to the FCCC by Saturday, March 30.
