Verona Murphy on mainstream parties' efforts to undermine her - 'they had the wrong sow by the ear'

The Wexford Independent Alliance (WIA) will be a pioneer for change in this summer's local elections according to Deputy Verona Murphy. Speaking at the official launch of the WIA, during which ten new candidates for the local elections were unveiled, Deputy Murphy said the organisation will "bring real change" and would challenge the status quo.

"I'm bringing the people of Wexford an alternative that gives you an opportunity for real change," said Deputy Murphy, who is the conveyor of the WIA. "We have put together excellent candidates who will put forward your views coherently and aren't afraid to challenge the status quo. You are being offered an option for real change, this option is not populist, it's realist, a common sense approach that is badly needed.
