Home Ministry must answer the issue of 'Israeli agent' nabbed in KL, says Perikatan

PETALING JAYA: The Home Ministry must 'come clean' on the issue of the alleged Israeli agent being nabbed in Kuala Lumpur, says Perikatan Nasional.

It said while the swift police action in having the suspect detained was much appreciated, the government must answer all questions on the incident.

"Perikatan youth urges for a full investigation by the Home Ministry on the cause of this fiasco and prevent recurrence of such incidents in the future," said Perikatan national youth leader Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden on Facebook on Saturday (March 30).

"We also call for a strategic plan to upgrade the capacity of all government agencies to repel any foreign threats which continuously threaten the sovereignty and security of the country," he added.

"This is not the first time where Malaysia has been the battleground, easily infiltrated by foreign elements which affects the sovereignty and security of the country," he said

"According to the Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain the police suspect the individual is involved with the Israeli secret service and might have established a network in this country.

Afnan Taib said there were two questions that needed to be answered by the Home Ministry on the latest development.

"Malaysia has banned entry to Israeli nationals, so how did this person enter the country?

"How did he manage to buy firearms and ammunition so easily in Malaysia?

"Without denying the sacrifices of the civil service who are carrying out their duties with whatever resources available, what happened is a sign for the Home Ministry and other ministries to seriously look into the country's sovereignty, security and the level of border controls," he said.
