Vivo Energy Kenya Lauds Motorsport Stars

NAIROBI, Kenya, Apr 10 - Leading Oil and Marketing Company Vivo Energy Kenya lauded the lady crews that participated in this year's WRC Safari Rally on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.

The team comprised of Pauline Sheghu, navigated by Linet Ayuko, and the mother-daughter duo of Caroline Gatimu and Tinashe Gatimu.

Vivo Energy Kenya Head of Marketing Mark Senteu said their success at the event is a testament to hard work and determination, which encapsulates the brand ethos.

"As Vivo Energy Kenya, we are incredibly honored to have the team as part of our rallying team. I wish to laud them for success in the daunting and arduous WRC Outing. We are keen on supporting them alongside other youngsters in harnessing their motorsport dreams," said Senteu.

Gatimu Tinashe, navigated by her mother, Caroline Gatimu, finished 7th, while Pauline Sheghu, navigated by Linet Ayuko, clocked 3.49.46 to emerge 8th overall during the event. Subaru Impreza Sti 10.

Tinashe Gatimu will be angling for local and continental glory in the coming days.

"It was a dream come true for me thanks to Vivo Energy Kenya sponsorship; leaving a mark at a tender age keeps my dream of being an official works team crew alive. I look forward to major feats in the KNRC and the ARC," said Tinashe.

Her mother, Caroline Gatimu, is delighted with her daughter's achievement. She says, "The pedestal she is on is excellent; we will consistently conquer various outings in the coming years.

Seasoned Navigator Linet Ayuko was elated by the event, describing H.E. President Ruto's warm reception at the ramp as a moment that would linger in her life.

"Getting to the ramp was always our plan, and what better way to have the President open the door for you and tell you, Well done!" Said Ayuko.

Communications Guru Pauline Sheghu will be keen to cement her legacy in motorsport in the coming days, angling for top honors in the battle of man and machine.

"It was an incredibly challenging event, with splashes of mud and dust clouds; we will indeed be indebted to Vivo Energy Kenya for Shell V-Power and A.V. Gas that made it seamlessly possible for us to compete at the event. I dedicate the victory to my late dad, President H.E William Ruto, CS Ababu Namwamba, Vivo Energy Kenya, for believing in us," said Sheghu.

Vivo Energy Kenya Head of Marketing Mark Senteu assured the crews of the company's support in the upcoming Autocross and KNRC events. The company's motorsport team comprises youngsters Neel Gohil, Wayne Fernandes, Fahim Abdul, Pauline Sheghu, Linet Ayuko, Tinashe Gatimu, and Caroline Gatimu.
