Motion of no confidence ejects netball exco

The Botswana Netball Association (BONA) president, Malebo Raditladi-Nkgakile and other national executive committee members, public relations officer, Mokeresete Mokeresete, vice president- projects and events, Seipei Gaelesiwe and sport development officer (SDO), Masego Serumola were removed from office via a motion of no confidence during an Annual General Meeting (AGM) held over the weekend.

The motion was passed by Jwaneng Netball Club chairperson, Sebataladi Ramoitoi, and it was supported by other clubs. Drama started unfolding in the morning when the members of the executive committee who were already not forming a quorum, were requested to step outside the meeting venue by the clubs.

The request was made after clubs refused to adopt the agenda of the meeting. The AGM proceeded after clubs took their time discussing the future of the association. Passing the motion, Ramoitoi argued that the meeting cannot proceed when the executive committee had failed to provide affiliates with the 2023 AGM minutes, 2024 annual report and financial report.
