Prime Minister Barre calls on Somali business leaders in Kenya to foster job creation in Somalia

Nairobi (HOL) - Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre met with Somali businessmen in Kenya on Tuesday night to discuss their role in the rebuilding and development of the country.
Prime Minister Barre highlighted the opportunities and challenges surrounding Somali governance and the government's efforts based on the implementation of the Somali government process.
"I am calling on businessmen to invest in the country and create job opportunities. This investment is an opportunity to benefit from our membership in the East African Community (EAC), which offers a new market and economic development," he added.
Recently, the governments of Somalia and Kenya signed agreements to deepen their bilateral relations and economic ties in trade and investment to boost the economies of both nations.
Following a meeting between Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Somalia's Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre in Nairobi, the two countries also discussed joint efforts to eliminate cartels and promote transparent and sustainable trade practices that benefit all stakeholders.
