NAIROBI, Kenya: This week, Kenya's foreign ministry said the Republic of Congo's military released two Kenya Airways staffers detained for two weeks after a cargo dispute.
After the incident, Kenya Airways subsequently suspended flights to Congo, but it said flights would resume this week.
The state-owned airline said it had rejected the cargo, described as "valuable" but whose nature has not been disclosed, because it did not have the required documentation.
The Kenyan staff were arrested from the airline's offices in the main airport in the capital, Kinshasa.
A military court granted the airline's application for their release, but the military continued to hold them.
The two countries have cordial relations with Kenya participating in UN-backed peacekeeping missions in Congo.
Foreign Ministry Principal Secretary Korir Singoei said the Kenyan Embassy in Congo negotiated for the release of the staffers.
