KL Rahul's Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are still not out of the race for IPL 2024 playoffs and take on Delhi Capitals in their next match on Tuesday; and while the LSG skipper hopes to see his team finishing in the top four on the table at the end of league stage this season, some Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fans are hoping that Rahul returns to play for his home-state franchise next year.

In a video on social media, from presumably RCB's last match against Delhi at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, some RCB fans could be seen cheering for Rahul while holding a placard that read: "KL Rahul welcome to RCB 2025".

Interestingly, LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka had an animated discussion near the dugout after the team faced a 10-wicket hammering against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in their last match.

Karnataka native Rahul made his IPL debut with RCB back in 2013. He then moved to Sunrisers Hyderabad and played for them in 2014 and 2015. However, the top-order batter, who can also double up as a wicketkeeper, returned to RCB in 2016.

After missing the 2017 season because of injury, Rahul joined Punjab Kings (previously Kings XI Punjab) and stayed there until 2021 before going to Lucknow Super Giants in 2022 as the team's skipper.

As far as the ongoing season is concerned, LSG, who have 12 points so far from as many matches, need to win their remaining two league matches and hope for some of the other results to go in their favour in order to qualify for the playoffs.
