MOCHUDI: Kgosi Kgafela Kgafela II of Bakgatla has promised his tribe in Mochudi that he will permanently return to Botswana in 2030.

Kgafela II has been living in South Africa since 2012 after he relocated due to his legal battle with the State over flogging incidents in Kgatleng. While he has always remained mum about his return to the country, Kgafela II on Saturday told dozens in his tribe of his impending return, which he said would coincide with his plans of building a new life.

Addressing the gathering virtually from South Africa, Kgafela explained to Bakgatla who had graced the official opening of Leobo La Kgotla at the main kgotla in Mochudi in large numbers, that for this new life chapter he wants to build with his subjects a life of no poverty, no crime, and no pain and suffering.
