ISLAMABAD: An accountability court on Thursday adjourned the hearing on Nawaz Sharif's plea for acquittal in a reference regarding the acquisition of a vehicle from Toshakhana until May 28.

Judge Nasir Javed Rana presided over the hearing, where the former prime minister was represented by lawyers Qazi Misbahul Hassan and Rana Muhammad Irfan.

Khawaja Manzoor Lone, a prosecutor from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), informed the court that Sohail Arif, another NAB prosecutor, would present arguments in the case.

Nawaz Sharif's lawyer Qazi Misbahul Hassan said that his client had filed the acquittal application based on the NAB report.

The judge remarked, "What was the notice? We will examine the NAB's response first."

The court then took a break. Upon resumption, the NAB prosecutor informed the court that the case file had not yet been received at the NAB headquarters and sought an adjournment. Subsequently, the court adjourned the hearing until May 28.
