Anwar congratulates Ireland, Norway and Spain for supporting Palestinian rights

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has congratulated Ireland, Norway and Spain for their intention to recognise Palestine as a state, which he described as being on track with history.
The Prime Minister said the three states have chosen the path of humanity and justice which is a testament that they acknowledge Palestinian rights as well as the principles of sovereignty, pride and the right to self-determination.
"This historic event all the more accelerates the world to strive for lasting peace in the Middle East," said Anwar on X or formerly Twitter on Friday (May 24).

"This milestone moves us closer to achieving a just peace in the Middle East. For all other governments who have not done so, know this: the world is waking up to the Palestinian cause and their pursuit of justice will not be denied.
"Join us in righting the course of history," he said in a post on Facebook on Friday (May 24).
On Thursday (May 24), several international media reported that the three countries have announced they will formally recognise a Palestinian state, from May 28.
An Al Jazeera report noted that globally, 143 of the 193 United Nations member states recognise a Palestinian state.
