Housing society admin replaced for not addressing issues of 6,100 affectees

ISLAMABAD: Chief Commissioner Islamabad and Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Muhammad Ali Randhawa has changed administration of Jinnah Garden Cooperative Housing Scheme for not addressing problems of 6,100 affectees. He directed that requirements for approval of the layout plan should be fulfilled, a spokesman for the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) and the CDA said.

Randhawa, in the light of directives of the Islamabad High Court (IHC), further said that a plan of action should be presented for giving possession to 6,100 affectees. He ordered for providing details of the areas where plots would be allotted to the affectees. These affectees had been allotted plots in the society and they had deposited all dues, but were not given possession of their plots.

On their petitions, the high court had directed the chief commissioner Islamabad to conduct a joint hearing in which all stakeholders should be called. A hearing was held on Monday in which the management of the societies including the secretary cooperative participated. The layout plan of phase one and two of Jinnah Garden was approved by the CDA, but later it was cancelled due to non-fulfilment of conditions.
