For popular Zimbabwean Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) star Themba 'The Answer' Gorimbo, winning three fights in a row in the UFC reflects that: "I'm God's project to write off doubt and inspire those that are counted out (looked down upon) in life".
Gorimbo's sentiments comes after his recent success in the fighting sport although prior to that, not so many people believed in his ability.
Last week, Gorimbo defeated Ramiz Brahimaj by a unanimous decision after recording 30-27 wins in all three sets in an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) match that was held in Las Vegas, United States.
With the victory, he made it three wins on the trot in the UFC, the largest MMA organisation in the world.
The welterweight fighter publicly claimed he is now thriving in MMA but used to face 'serious criticism' from his "doubters" who thought he won't reach greater heights in the fighting sport.
The Masvingo born MMA star took to his social media platforms to tell his "doubters" he is an Almighty project.
"Three in a row in the best MMA organisation in the world. (Starting this career) many thought I wasn't ready, many thought I wouldn't win a fight in UFC and many said he will be out soon but hey, I guess I'm God's project to write off doubt and inspire those that are counted out in life," wrote Gorimbo.
"Reflecting back to the moment of my last victory because I worked and sacrificed so much for this fight and overcame so many challenges during fight camp I wanted the finish so bad to get me the authority to call my next shot but hey God knows and gives what we I need in the current situation.
"Maybe I need to slow down a bit or maybe I need to look for better ways to approach my fights. God will guide me .
"However I'm grateful of the lesson I got from this win. I am in love with winning and winning loves me.
"I am going to be the UFC welterweight champion. I know my will and my skills are there. I am destined to inspire the world by becoming the UFC champion and even do greater things in life after my fighting career.
"This story is the greatest story in combat sports history and please let it cook itself. The trajectory is looking very good. God is writing every chapter of my story right and meaningful. I am with him and nobody can stop this.
"This is God's work. What a life .Excited for the next win. I am grateful to be a winner," the Answer added to his post.
The 32-year-old also made headlines early this year (2024) after knocking out his Mexican opponent Pete Rodriguez in 32 seconds to record his second successive victory in MMA.
Gorimbo gained popularity in 2023 when Hollywood star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson bought him a house in Miami, United States.
The gesture came after seeing footage of the Zimbabwean star discussing his financial struggles prior to his first win.
