Nairobi, Kenya - The Speaker of the Somali Parliment, Mr. Sheikh Adan Mohamed Noor (commonly known as Madobobe), participated in the meeting of the Speakers of the parliaments from East African Community (EAC) member countries. The conference, which officially opened in Nairobi, Kenya, aimed to address challenges hindering the organization's development agenda.

In his opening speech, Speaker Madobobe expressed gratitude to the Kenyan government and its people for the warm welcome extended to him and his delegation. He emphasized the timeliness and significance of the meeting for the organization's activities.

Somalia, like many other East African nations, has faced numerous challenges in recent years. However, with resilience, determination, and regional support, significant progress has been made in overcoming these obstacles. Speaker Madobobe highlighted Somalia's positive trajectory, citing economic growth, improved security conditions, and an active and forward-looking Somali community.

"Somalia today has set foot on the path of development and recovery," stated Speaker Madobobe. "Our economy is growing, security is improving, and our citizens are eager to shape their own future."

He concluded by affirming Somalia's commitment to actively participate in East Africa's development. The Somali Parliament aims to collaborate with its counterparts in the region, fostering peace, stability, and prosperity for the entire East African Community. The conference serves as a platform to strengthen cooperation and address shared challenges across the EAC member states.
