Arunachal Pradesh Election 2024 Results News Live: Today marks the pivotal moment for 133 candidates in Arunachal Pradesh as the fate sealed within the EVMs will be unveiled through the counting of votes cast in elections for 50 assembly seats.

Notably, the ruling BJP has already secured 10 seats uncontested in the 60-member Arunachal assembly, further fortifying its position. In the previous 2019 elections, the saffron party clinched 41 seats.

Commencing at 6 am on Sunday under stringent security measures, the vote tallying process anticipates revealing final outcomes by noon. Both assembly and Lok Sabha elections were conducted concurrently in Arunachal Pradesh during the initial phase on April 19.

Arunachal Pradesh assembly election

Axis My India has predicted 44-51 seats for BJP, 1-4 seats for the Congress, 2-6 seats for NPP and 2-6 seats for Others.

A commendable 82.71 per cent voter turnout was recorded for the assembly polls, while 77.51 per cent of voters exercised their franchise for the two Lok Sabha seats.

The counting of votes for the 50 assembly seats will take place across 24 centers, overseen by 2,000 officials, as confirmed by the CEO. Elaborate security arrangements have been implemented, with media centers established at all counting sites for providing real-time updates.

In light of ensuring peaceful proceedings, the CEO, in collaboration with the chief secretary and the director general of police, recently conducted a coordination meeting with district electoral officers (DEOs) and superintendents of police (SPs) to assess the law and order scenario.

Counting of votes for the two Lok Sabha seats is scheduled for June 4, commencing from 8 am across 25 centers.

A look at 2019 Arunachal assembly elections

The BJP won 41 assembly constituencies in the 2019 polls. The JD (U) had won seven assembly seats, the NPP five, Congress four and the PPA one. Two Independent candidates had also emerged victorious.
