HONG KONG - A signaling fault near Sunny Bay MTR station caused delays on the Tung Chung and Airport Express lines around noon on Wednesday.

In an advisory, the MTR said Airport Express and Tung Chung Line trains operated at a slower speed from Sunny Bay Station to Tsing Yi Station due to the glitch.

The MTR said Airport Express trains will arrive after 15-minute intervals and Tung Chung trains after 10-minute intervals

"This could extend the total journey time on the Airport Express & Tung Chung Line between Hong Kong Station and Tung Chung Station / AsiaWorld-Expo Station by three to five minutes," the MTR said.

"MTR staff are carrying out repair work. We apologize for any inconvenience caused," it added.

The MTR said Airport Express trains will arrive after 15-minute intervals and Tung Chung trains after 10-minute intervals.

The glitch was eventually repaired before 1 pm and trains on both lines resumed normal operations, the MTR said.
