GMRSC cuts ties with Team Mohamed in light of US sanctions - Stabroek News

The Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club (GMRSC), according to a press release, has severed ties with drag racing enthusiast Azruddin Mohamed and his popular stable, Team Mohamed, in light of sanctions imposed on the entities by the United States of America.
According to the correspondence, "GMRSC has noted that Team Mohamed's racing team together with its owned Azruddin Mohamed, have on 11th June, 2024 has been specifically sanctioned by the US Department of Treasury for involvement in various criminal and other dishonest activities."
The release further stated that GMRSC, given the Office of Foreign Asset (OFAC) designation, can face possible sanctions for their continued involvement with Team Mohamed and its proprietor in any capacity.
"As such, a decision has been taken by the club to immediately impose a ban on Azruddin Mohamed and Team Mohamed's from participation in any club activities at their Albert Street headquarters, South Dakota Racing Circuit, or elsewhere", the release further stated.
