Anti-drug campaign through art in Guimaras

ILOILO CITY - Art is a vehicle against the dangers of illegal drugs in Jordan, the capital of the island-province of Guimaras.

Since the last week of May, the SUBLI Artists Guimaras has been conducting an art workshop as an anti-illegal drug campaign.
"This is part of our social causes and one way of giving back to the community," said Architect Frank Nobleza.
The weekend art workshop is a joint project with the local government unit of (LGU) of Jordan under the administration of Mayor Cresente Chavez Jr. and the Jordan Municipal Police Station led by its officer-in-charge Police Capt. Maria Jonah Casono.

Nobleza said that the art workshop is part of the Buhay Ingatan, Droga'y Ayawan (BIDA) program initiated by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
Aside from the workshop, there is an ongoing exhibit at the Jordan Tourism Town Center.
Dubbed as Dugos, the group exhibit features the works of Jolina Mae Arcan, Edwin de los Reyes, Eros Endencio, Vic Fario, Marianne Fernandez, Kate Gallarde, Gleanne Gentizon, John Carlo Ronco, Jarra Silvestre, Roberto Vargas, and Nobleza.
